I created this design use case of a sample eyedrops medicine called "TRADENAME" for the sake of demonstration. Most of all of my work is under an NDA, so I have recreated some of this work to display here to showcase my abilities to design holistically, to support an entire product brand, device, and its workflow using Illustrator, InDesign, Figma, FigJam, and Protopie with interactive mobile app design.

Pre-IFU Workflow in Figma. I use these workflows to confirm the use case and tasks for an IFU. These tasks also inform the user testing tasks during summative/formative testing.

Here is an example of a creative path starting at a user discovery workflow, to user/product task workflow, and then onto URRA, IFU, and packaging deliverables for a sample medical device/prescription medication:

- Create a use workflow map to discover at what point the user comes into contact with the product.
- Create a task flow diagram to support the user's use case, once in contact with the product.
- Use design thinking to discover and identify any pain- and abandon-points along the use-path.
- Use HCI and risk management to discover and identify any potential use errors.
- Use standards and regulations information to discover and identify potential regulatory requirements for materials.
* Send to Regulatory Affairs for approval/awareness.
- Create a user flow to map the user's use steps while using the product.
- If medical product, create URRA and outline risks, PCA, and heuristics.
- Create an IFU with content that supports and provides guide wires for each of the findings areas:
* Pain-, abandon-points, error handling
* Task / use flows
* Warnings and caution prompts per regulatory needs
* Content that aligns with use steps, uses action verbs, 6th grade reading comprehension, follows CDER and ISO-20417 guidelines and markings:
* Wireframes for illustrations as placeholders.
- Create labels and packaging designs to support IFU and materials:
* Labels and packaging
* Create illustrations for IFU
- Create wireframes for product companion mobile app task/workflows.
- Create functional prototype of product companion mobile app, unbranded based on wireframes.
- Review branding guidelines for product, if any.
* Design first-pass app design with branding alternatives.

In Figma, the first couple of screens for iHealth+ take shape.

iHealth+ works by setting up the schedule for the medication the patient was prescribed. Some of the requirements are:

* Keep to brand and color scheme.
* Easy to use by user personas identified.
* Set up a new reminder.
* Set up reminder for one, or both eyes for ophthalmic solutions.
* During set up, select from medicine strengths available for TRADENAME.
* Send reminder notifications to patient when it's time to take medicine.
* Edit reminders set up.
* Pause one, several, or all reminder notifications.
* Delete one, several, or all reminders set up.
* Provide a coupon discount section for users to obtain GoodRx and other partner coupons.
